Artists Space is a historic arts nonprofit in NYC. Its website, inspired by its updated physical location, provides multiple entrances and an accessible interface to its cultural programming and 50-year avant-garde archive. In collaboration with Taichi Wi and Mark Beasley.
media indices allow visitors to traverse the site’s 50-year archive in ways that best suit them — browsing by page, by image, by text, by video, or by artist ...every page sitewide ends with a list of other pages that link to it — “backlinks” or “reciprocal hyperlinks.” that way, every link on artists space becomes a door that can be passed in both directions, enabling lateral circulation through the institution’s vertical ontology of exhibitions, programs, and artists
